SEED OF MIND BLOWING GRATITUDE

August 23rd, 2012

Open your mind and let it be blown by the wonder of being alive. Open your eyes and let them pop with the colors of nature, the color of friendship, the color of life. Open your ears and let them soak in the sound of silence, the sound of music, the sound of sweet everything. Open your heart and let it break and mend and beat with undying gratitude.

The final thought about a heart that breaks, mends, beats as a routine part of being open feels true to me.   It is reassuring to know that there is something constructive and normal about one’s heart breaking again and again and that pain is a part of being alive and open.  One is not fully alive or truly happy without being open and vulnerable.   Right now I am feeling like Icarus, but my landing was relatively soft and I am ready to explore earthly delights awhile before I redesign better wings.

When I realize this is a God given day.  I should appreciate this as an opportunity.  Although, I don’t beat myself up for not making major accomplishments.  Little improvement and keeping up with my daily responsibilities makes me look forward to tomorrow.
