I find it helpful to acknowledge the thing you desire to “not take personally” then set it aside and replace it with some thing that delights and excites, something productive and creative, something inspired. The skill is to replace the unwanted with the desired. It is useful to collect happy thoughts as affirmations and write them down. ie: “I am” statements. “I am happy and feeling well” “I am in love with my life” “I am having more fun” “I am clear thinking and positive”. To stop yourself from obsessing on the perceived affront, carry the written list of affirmations with you to read and repeat whenever you find yourself in the position of waiting. What meathods do you use? We all can use new tools.
