The history of the past is but one long struggle upward to equality. ~ Elizabeth Cady Stanton

One- We are all equal in the fact that we are all different.
All- We are all the same in the fact that we will never be the same.
One- We are united by the reality that all colours and all cultures are distinct and individual. All- We are harmonious in the reality that we are all held to this earth by the same gravity. One- We don’t share blood, but we share the air that keeps us alive.
All- I will not blind myself and say that my black brother is not different from me.
One- I will not blind myself and say that my brown sister is not different from me.
All- But my black brother is he as much as I am me.
One- And my brown sister is she as much as I am me. ~ C JoyBell C

” Unlike women whose every move can be media monitored,‘white heterosexual men are not policed by society. They have no need, therefore, to check and see – not just if they are wrong, but why their behaviour might be hedging toward the extreme.’ http://www.smh.com.au/lifestyle/news-and-views/opinion/the-rise-of-the-sad-dad-is-not-a-divorce-trend- but-a-gendered-one-20170521-gw9s2u.html

A personal observation:‘In those childhood days you encountered sex by innuendo. No-one talked to us about sex – but we all knew instinctively. The adult silences created our own prurient fascination with genitalia and coitus. We were shaping as male functional predators. I remember when Dennis brought his uncle’s male brothel pictures to school.

The shocking image is still in mind. And no adult said anything. A much older boy groped me in a movie theatre. I ran away terrified, but there was no-one to tell about either the terror or the offence. Manhood was about avoidance and silent observation … These character traits modelled manhood for my generation. We boys were just the extension of our parents’ and grandparents’ world. http://www.keysensitivity.com/facing-up-to-my-manhood/

Seed of Peace

‘Forgetting’ the past is not possible. But I can transition from it. If I am serious about transition, then I will hope with all my heart, that my children and grandchildren will shape a distinctive life journey of their own that makes them agents of freedom for the next generation. And, as a matter of course, they will transition from those values and culture that have constrained me. ~ Bill Lawton

Say together: Lead us there where step-by-step we may feel the movement of creation in our hearts. And lead us there where side-by-side we may feel the embrace of the common soul. ~ Michael Leunig
