candle flame love

“Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable.” ~ Bruce Lee

I love this. The transition from flame, easily snuffed out, to deep-coals that are unquenchable. What a beautiful metaphor for relationships! And really this is applicable to us as individuals. We need to love ourselves believing we are worthy of being loved despite our imperfections; afterall, isn’t our imperfections that make us unique, like each pearl. So simple yet so profound. Thank you for sharing.
