People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.
Love them anyway.

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.

If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.

The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.

The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.

People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.

What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.

People really need help but may attack you if you do help them.
Help people anyway.

Give the world the best you have and you’ll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you have anyway.

  1. Jo Garza says:

This is so hard, I feel that all the others before me have been sacrificed or even took their own life for this. I’m just figuring it all out and it’s wonderful, to share it to get cast away by the people. Treated different and even hated. I’m not strong enough to say what it is inside. It’s too revealing. But it is NIRVAVA…. BLISS!

  7. I appreciate the ‘frankness’ in this article. A good reminder why we need to move forward and succeed despite the negatives that will always be there… The upside is that we can choose to focus on the good and remember that the good triumphs over whatever negatives there are… just keep your eyes toward the sun(heavens) and keep on being authentically you!!

  13. Kenneth Vogt says:

The power of both love and good come from the truth that they are not parts of some dualistic transaction where there is an opposite or an opposing force, or even just a required instigator or mandatory response. Unconditionality offers a level of freedom that literally can’t be measured because it is infinite. This idea of “love anyway” or “do good anyway” is really the only way to love or be good. You can examine this further here:

  14. This is beautiful. Imagine if we all did this…what a world it would be 🙂

  15. Kandi says:

Everything in life is a choice. Every choice comes with risk. Relationships are worth risk. Always.

  16. Listening says:

The first time I read through it spoke to me. I heard a heart speaking, opening up. Courage is choosing to make oneself vulnerable and to stay vulnerable despite pain. Those whose comments were thought provoking clearly love themselves and know they are worthy of love just as they are.

  17. Mia Escobud says:

    Love this, so true!
